    L.I.N.E. System

The L.I.N.E. System was created by Ron DonVito, A highly standardised systematic approach to martial arts was used by the U.S. Marine core between 1989-1998 and it is estimated that 750,000 military personnel have been through this programme.

This system aims to do both equip the soldier with confidence and aggression and at the same time a range of practical killing skills. Teachers are tested on a bi-annual basis and in order for their licence to teach to be reinstated they must complete the last day of training that new teachers complete to the same standard.

Usually taught to teachers over a two day, fifty hour contact time programmeit is designed specifically to meet the needs of the army in terms of ease of retention, ease of teaching methodology and cost-effective practicalities.

One unique aspect of training is that techniques are pressure tested when soldiers are extremely fatigued. Normally this test may involve 4-6 hours of taxing aerobic and anaerobicwork in full battle dress after which techniques are measured for speed, power and effectiveness.

It is absolutely vital in battle conditions when a soldier may be afraid, adrenolised or fatigued, that he can still operate effectively under those adverse conditions. Another interesting qualification under which all L.I.N.E. techniques must measure up to is that each attack and counter must be able to be used without the benefit of good visibility; meaning they must be able to be used at night, if they soldier is unable to see clearly in smoke conditions or if he has sustained an injury to an eye or is temporarily blinded by light from an explosion such as a flash bang.
