    American Combat Judo




    This is understandable, given the unique set of circumstances surrounding the training programme requirements of the second world war, that it was impractical to try and teach a martial art that ordinarily may take anywhere between five to ten years to gain a degree of mastery. Techniques had to be boiled down to their raw basics so that the young recruits could operate to a reasonable degree of effectiveness in hand-to-hand combat in a short period of time.
